Default data training: No by default; Zoom states it does not use any customer audio, video, chat, screen sharing, attachments, or other communications-like customer content to train its own or third-party AI models, and this applies across all account tiers.
Business-tier training: No by default; Same blanket no-training commitment applies to paid/enterprise content; no customer content is used to train Zoom's or third-party models.

Practical risk: AI Companion must process meeting audio/transcripts to function, and those inputs can be retained up to ~30 days for support/debugging, so disabling or admin-scoping the feature is the only way to keep sensitive conversations out of that processing pipeline.

How to make a decision

Check the precise account tier, written contract and intended data before approving Zoom AI Companion. A security certification, DPA or setting can apply to only part of a vendor's service. Keep the source links with your supplier review and revisit them when the vendor changes its terms.
