Yes. Salesforce offers a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) for Slack AI, the baseline GDPR control when a vendor processes personal data on your behalf.

Data Processing Agreement: Confirmed; Salesforce publishes a DPA. A DPA is necessary but does not replace your own lawful-basis, DPIA and transfer assessment.
EU data residency: Confirmed; Salesforce documents an EU data-residency option; confirm it is enabled for the account and workload in scope.
Default data training: No by default; Slack states Customer Data is never used to train third-party LLMs, and generative AI models are not developed using Customer Data; this applies across tiers (Slack AI is not offered on free/consumer tiers).
Business-tier training: No by default; For paid/enterprise use, Slack AI uses off-the-shelf LLMs hosted within Slack's own AWS trust boundary that do not retain or train on Customer Data, using RAG to send only inference-time data.

Practical risk: The 'no training' guarantee covers generative LLMs, but Slack's non-generative machine-learning features have historically processed customer messages on an opt-out (not opt-in) basis, so admins must proactively review AI/ML data settings rather than assume default protection.

How to make a decision

Check the precise account tier, written contract and intended data before approving Slack AI. A security certification, DPA or setting can apply to only part of a vendor's service. Keep the source links with your supplier review and revisit them when the vendor changes its terms.
