Is v0 HIPAA compliant?

Yes

Vercel · Coding

Yes. Vercel will sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) for v0, usually on an enterprise plan, which is the baseline requirement for handling PHI.

What we checked

This assessment separates the consumer product from any business plan. It uses the vendor documents linked below; an unverified item is not a pass.

Business Associate Agreement
Confirmed
Vercel publishes a BAA option. Confirm the exact plan and service are covered before sending PHI.
Enterprise route
Enterprise (contractual no-training warranty; paid Pro only if you manually opt out)
For regulated use, validate the BAA, configured service and users under the Enterprise (contractual no-training warranty; paid Pro only if you manually opt out) contract.
Default data training
Opt-out required
Hobby content, and Pro content unless opted out, may be used to train models; paid Pro is opted-in by default and you opt out in Team Settings. Pre-release Stealth Models are excluded from these protections.
Business-tier training
No by default
Enterprise carries a contractual warranty that v0 content is not used for training.
Practical risk: v0 inherits Vercel's platform compliance program (SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001:2022, GDPR DPA, HIPAA BAA availability) rather than v0-specific certs. Its training policy is tier-gated: Hobby and, unless opted out, Pro content can be used to train models.

How to make a decision

Check the precise account tier, written contract and intended data before approving v0. A security certification, DPA or setting can apply to only part of a vendor's service. Keep the source links with your supplier review and revisit them when the vendor changes its terms.
